  1. To enhance the processing of postgraduate students' documents and improve communication with students, faculties, and stakeholders.

Topics Covered:

  1. Effective minutes writing and key factors in minutes writing
  2. Templates and format for postgraduate proposal and theses defense minutes
  3. Effective communication with students, faculty, Board of examiners, and other stakeholders
  4. Soft skills - Communication skills
  5. Ethical considerations (Ethics and Integrity)
  6. Planning and handling of postgraduate proposal and theses defenses, including physical, virtual, and blended defenses

Key Discussions and Suggestions:

  • Importance of customer communication for institutional image
  • Active listening and empathy in dealing with students
  • Encouraging dialogue and timely feedback
  • Adopting Egerton University's values to elevate the institution
  • Strategies to improve graduation rates
  • Proper procedures for Board of examiners updates and oral examination forms
  • Standardizing postgraduate defense minutes template
  • Recording oral examination questions accurately
